TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Administration Standard for Telecommunications Infrastructure

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (Oct. 29, 2020) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.3 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Administration, Pathways, Spaces, Bonding and Grounding (569) has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-606-D initially titled “Administration Standard for Telecommunications Infrastructure”. TR-42.3 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: “This Standard specifies administration systems for telecommunications infrastructure within buildings (including commercial, industrial, residential, and data center premises) and between buildings. This infrastructure may range in size from a building requiring a single telecommunications space (TS) and associated elements, to many TSs and associated elements in multiple campus locations. This Standard applies to administration of telecommunications infrastructure in existing, renovated, and new buildings.”

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Cabling system designers, installers, consultants, architects, manufacturers, cabling systems owners, facilities management organizations, contractors.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

For more information about TR-42 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Cheryl Thibideau at standards-process@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
