Arlington VA. (March 5, 2020) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a “call for participation” on document TIA-604-10-C initially titled “FOCIS-10 – Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Standard, Type LC”. TR-42.13 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: “Revise ANSI/TIA-604-10-B to: Explore LC adapter, plug, and receptacle interfaces in order to standardize the center to center position spacing beyond duplex and update as needed.”
TIA is actively seeking participation on this project from stakeholders, which may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers and general users of fiber optics cables.
A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA’s engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
