Arlington, VA (September 5, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-455-244-A titled Methods for Measuring the Change in Transmittance of Optical Fibers in Expressed Buffer Tubes When Subjected to Temperature Cycling Revision.
ANSI/TIA-455-244-A document will revise ANSI/TIA-455-244 to harmonize with IEC 60794-1-22, Method F18.
Stakeholders may include but are not limited to: Users of optical fiber such as optical fiber cable manufacturers and their customers, optical fiber transmission and test equipment manufacturers, specifiers of optical fiber and cable such as telecommunications companies and standards bodies that define transmission protocols.
TIA is actively seeking participation in ANSI/TIA-455-244-A from the user and general interest communities.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. Recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee are available on TIA’s public engineering committee pages.
